Two individuals in school community test positive for COVID-19

| November 17, 2020

Dear North Colonie Community,

The North Colonie Central School District confirmed today, Tuesday, Nov. 17, that two individuals in our school community have tested positive for COVID-19.

The first is an individual associated with Shaker High School who has not been on campus since Friday, Nov. 6, and they were not on campus during the time in which they were infectious.

The second is an individual associated with the junior high school remote learning program. This individual has not been in any of our buildings at all this school year.

The Department of Health will conduct contact tracing for anyone these individuals were in contact with outside of school. Both individuals have been placed in isolation and will not return to a district building until they are cleared by the health department.

We continue to work closely with the Albany County Health Department and follow their guidance each time our district has a positive case.

Please reach out to your child’s principal if you have any questions.
