Important Message from Superintendent Kathleen Skeals

Dear North Colonie Families,

As you are likely aware, the Capital Region is under a Winter Storm Warning, with snow and poor driving conditions forecasted to begin Monday evening and continue into Tuesday.

As we shared in a message to families earlier this winter, we have already used two snow days and are at the minimum state requirement of 180 instructional days. If a snow day is needed on Tuesday, Feb. 28 it will be a remote instructional day in order for us to meet the New York State requirement for instructional days.

Later today, building principals will be sending guidelines and schedules for remote learning if the weather conditions on Tuesday require us to call a snow day.

We recognize that remote instructional days can be a challenge for families, but the use of the day allows us to meet our state obligation.

Thank you.

Kathleen Skeals
Superintendent
