4331, Summer School

Secondary Schools

In the elementary and junior high schools, students who are in need of remediation may be invited to attend the North Colonie Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8 Program. Students in the secondary schools may attend summer school to earn credit for a course they failed to improve their grade, or to take courses which from time to time may be approved by the Board of Education.

Summer school study may be pursued in an approved public or private secondary school upon the approval of the Shaker Junior High or Shaker High School Principal. Tutorial instruction, for remedial purposes only, may be pursued in lieu of summer school, when approved in advance the Principal. If a student wishes to take a course in acceleration for credit during the summer in either a high school or college program, approval must be sought and
given by the Principal prior to July 1.
