4315, Credits for Courses Given By organizations Outside of The Jurisdiction or Supervision of the North Colonie Central School District

The Board of Education has the responsibility to accept State Education Department direction and Commissioner’s regulations regarding the accepting of high school transfer credits.

Transfer students entering Shaker High School from another school system, who present a valid transcript, shall receive up to one and one-half units of elective credit for religion. However, credit may not be granted for release time religious instruction that is completed in other than a registered non-public high school.

Transfer students who present a transcript listing successful completion of Junior R.O.T.C. programs of study shall be granted up to three units of elective credit.

Credits for released time instruction in an institution other than a registered non-public high school will not be accepted for a Shaker High School local or Regents diploma.
