Recyclable Materials Needed for Elementary School Innovation Lab

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!  We are excited to introduce our students to our new Innovation Lab!  Each class will visit the Innovation Lab once every six days to engage in the Engineering Design Process.

While the labs are stocked with many exciting materials, we need some different recyclable materials as well. If you would like to donate to our lab,  below is a list of materials. Please do NOT go out and buy anything.  We will only collect these materials during the month of October. There will be boxes for these materials outside of your school’s Innovation Lab.

  • Cardboard Items:  Cereal boxes or similar type cardboard boxes, paper towel tubes, toilet paper tubes, gift paper tubes, ribbon spools
  • Craft Items: fabric scraps,  buttons
  • Plastic:   Caps to water or soda bottles, plastic tops (please make sure that these are clean),  VERY CLEAN plastic containers (yogurt, fruit cup, deli salad containers)
  • Odds & Ends:  Newspaper and magazines (school appropriate), corks, Old CDs or DVDs, twist ties, old greeting cards, dental floss, metal washers, nuts & bolts.
