At Shaker Middle School, each student is assigned to one of four halls:
Algonquin
Haystack
Skylight
Wright
Within each hall, students work with a counselor assigned to that hall. Our counselors work with the middle school Math, Science, Social Studies and English teachers (within their respective halls) to provide continuity while the students are attending the middle school. Although the individual is the focal point of the middle school program, group counseling is also an integral part of the total program. Behavioral, developmental, academic and related issues are addressed in formal conferences. Wellness and self-esteem are targeted as well as pre-career and occupational issues.
8th to 9th Grade Transition

Be An Ally To Others and Stand Up!
Shaker Middle School believes children have the right to be educated in a safe, happy and supportive environment. Our goal is to make our middle school a place where every student feels included by their peers and accepted for who they are.
