North Colonie Kids Care: Cathleen (Cat) Mahoney, a senior at Shaker High School was recognized this month. Cat completed the New York City marathon earlier this month running for Best Buddies and in honor ofher friend, Hank Masson. Cat and Hank have been classmates since elementary school and she talked about her friendship with Hank through the Best Buddies program. Hank was at the meeting in support of Cat.

Michael Giso from Turner Construction gave a progress update on the construction at the future Shaker Middle School and the Shaker High School baseball and softball fields. Bids for Phases 3 and 4 Projects at Shaker High School, Forts Ferry, Latham Ridge and Loudonville will be due in December.

Since September elementary enrollment has decreased by one student, Shaker Junior High’s enrollment has also decreased by one student; and Shaker High School’s enrollment has seen an increase by one student.
