  • All activities for tomorrow (Sat., March 12) are canceled due to the impending storm.
  • The SAT Exam scheduled for tomorrow (Sat., March 12) has been postponed to Sat., March 26. More details will be forthcoming.

WEEKLY BOOST

Leonni Griffin, Varsity Indoor Track & Field, is our Athlete of the Week. She beat the school record in the 600m run with a 1:34.65 and also finished second at the State Meet.

Cora Barron at the recent Board of Education meeting.

Congratulations to eighth-grader Cora Barron. She is North Colonie’s February Kid Cares recipient. Learn more about Cora here.

Latham Ridge Teacher Gabriella Giacone

 

A new children’s book “Gabby’s Got Game” is named after fifth-grade Latham Ridge Teacher Gabriella Giacone. Ms. Giacone’s sister, Jenna, who plays Division I Basketball for the Dayton Flyers, authored the book. Ms. Giacone says that her students often watch Jenna’s games and that it has brought a unique sense of community to her classroom.

Superintendent Conference Day – Fri., March 18. No school.

Report Your Child’s Absence We’ve created a simple Google form to streamline attendance. This form must be used to report all student absences (even if it’s not COVID-19 related). Please do not use this form for early/late dismissals. Click here for the Student Absence Form.

A Board of Education Budget Meeting will be held Mon., March 14 at 7 p.m. at Shaker Middle School. A livestream link will be posted soon.

New York State Grades 3-8 – In a few weeks, the NYS Grades 3-8 English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics Tests will be administered to students.  Learn more about the testing.
