7320, Selection of an Architect or Engineer

SELECTION OF AN ARCHITECT OR ENGINEER AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECT-RELATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

For remodeling or construction projects costing $5,000 or more, the Board of Education shall retain the services of an architect or engineer or other project-related professional services. The Board of Education may choose to retain the services of an architect or engineer for projects
costing $5,000 or less.

The selection of an architect or engineer or other project related professional for any project shall be made by the Board of Education acting upon the advice of an ad hoc subcommittee, working with the Superintendent of Schools and the Assistant Superintendent for Business to screen firms expressing interest in the project.

Any architect or engineer chosen by the Board of Education shall be licensed in the State of New York and be familiar with the laws, regulations, and procedures relating to school construction.
