Unexpired terms of office may be filled by Board of Education appointment until the next annual election, in accordance with Education Law 1709(17), or filled by special election, in accordance with Education Law 2113.
If the vacancy is filled by appointment, the appointed board member shall serve until the next regular school district election. If the vacancy is filled by a special district election, the newly elected board member shall serve for the remainder of the term.
If filling any such vacancy by appointment, the Board will make known the vacancy and will solicit by a public notice.
