We are thrilled to congratulate the outstanding Spanish students from Shaker High School who have once again demonstrated excellence on the 2025 National Spanish Exam (NSE), earning well-deserved national recognition. In this year's competition, 83 students from Shaker secured a remarkable 1 gold, 4 silver, and 10 bronze medals, in addition to 35 honorable mentions. The achievement of earning a medal or honorable mention on the National Spanish Exam (NSE) is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students.

The AATSP Exam is a program of the esteemed American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). With a rich history dating back to 1957, the National Spanish Exam (NSE) is administered annually from grades 6 through 12 and serves as a cornerstone of academic achievement in Spanish language education. As the largest of its kind in the United States, the NSE attracted over 80,000 student participants in 2025. Achieving gold, silver, or bronze status in the NSE opens doors for students to explore a variety of scholarship opportunities provided through the AATSP Exams program. Information about the AATSP Exams can be found at www.nationalspanishexam.org.

This success is not an isolated incident, but rather a reflection of Shaker High School's longstanding tradition of academic excellence in Spanish language education. Our students have consistently excelled on these exams, thanks to the guidance and expertise of our dedicated Spanish teachers. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the students who participated in the competition and commend them for their hard work, determination, and commitment to mastering the Spanish language.
