The Shaker Middle School Science Bowl team returned from Nationals with their heads held high after placing in their division.
Shaker Middle School was represented well by students Sophia Hu, Samuel Lin, William Mao, Khrishnav Parasuraman, and Michael Wu. The team placed 4th in their division during the National Competition Round Robin event and was able to move on to the Double-Elimination rounds. These five members of the Science Bowl Club won the regional competition in February in order to advance on to Nationals in Washington, D.C. April 27 – May 1.
“These students worked hard to prepare for these competitions,” said Angela Stadnik, SMS 6th grade science teacher. “They stayed after school on Fridays to practice, reviewed material during free time, and even went over sample problems while on the bus to and from events. They worked well together and showed respect for other teams.”
Their coaches, Li Zheng, Jennifer Kirchherr, and Angela Stadnik, are proud of all Science Bowl participants this year!
