Welcome Message from Superintendent Corr

Dear North Colonie Families:

It is my honor to welcome your children to the North Colonie Central School District for the 2022-23 school year.

This year begins my 50th year in public education, and my 42nd and final year in North Colonie.

For me, the first day of school is like New Year’s Day. It’s an exciting time that marks new beginnings and opportunities.

As I told your child’s teachers earlier this week, I remain optimistic about our ability as those entrusted to educate all students to evolve and progress. I am more convinced than ever of the power of educators to transform the lives of others, our nation, and our world. And a key component of this is ensuring all students feel and are truly accepted as belonging to our school community.

As we begin the 2022-23 school year, we are recognizing the power of connections. We are at the beginning stages of rolling out a new program that focuses on mental health and the importance of relationships and belonging. While classroom learning is important, positive relationships are a fundamental part of setting our children up for success. This is important work and we will continue discussions and provide updates as the year progresses.

While the theme of “belonging” is ingrained in our District Mission, it’s far more than an aspirational word. It is a feeling. It is a right. It is what each and every student deserves. It is who we are at North Colonie.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance. I can be reached at superintendent@nccsk12.org.

Here’s to a great school year!

Sincerely,

D. Joseph Corr

Superintendent
