Vigil to Honor the Life of Destiny Greene, Sunday June 6

Shaker High School is hosting a candlelight vigil to honor the life of Destiny Greene on Sunday, June 6 at 8:00 p.m. at Walker Field.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the vigil will be limited to 500 attendees — who will be required to wear a mask — and will be asked to sign in for contract tracing purposes. You can use this link to sign in ahead of time if you would like.

For planning purposes, consider bringing water. It’s going to be a hot day and an emotional one, staying hydrated will be very important for your well-being.

The vigil will also be available via live stream through this link. It will go live at approximately 8:00 p.m. and start with speakers: Superintendent D. Joseph Corr, SHS Principal Richard Murphy, and School Counselor, Michael Bruni. Following those brief remarks, we will pause for student reflections, then a moment of silence with a candle lighting ceremony. The final remarks will come from Destiny’s brother Isaiah Greene and mother Tareen Lynch-Greene.
