Three individuals in school community test positive for COVID-19

Dear North Colonie Community,

The North Colonie Central School District has confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 in our school community. The cases include:

  • An individual associated with the Forts Ferry 4-6 intermediate program at SJHS who was last in the building on Dec. 7. The individual was not in the building during the time in which they were infectious.
  • An individual associated with the Boght Hills 4-6 intermediate program at SJHS who was last in the building on Dec. 4. The individual was not in the building during the time in which they were infectious.
  • An individual associated with the Shaker High School community who was last in the building on Nov. 24. The individual was not in the building during the time in which they were infectious.

We have confirmed these cases with Albany County Department of Health and can report that none of these cases has close contacts in the school community.

We continue to work closely with the Albany County DOH and follow their guidance each time our district has a positive case. Read more information on quarantine protocols and isolation protocols from the Albany County DOH.

Please reach out to your child’s principal if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

D. Joseph Corr
Superintendent of Schools
