LiLianna Corey, a 2nd grader at Latham Ridge Elementary, says she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Just seven-years-old, she’s already helping out in the classroom.

LiLianna is the January 2022 North Colonie Kids Care recipient.

She was recognized at the Board of Education meeting held on January 24. LiLianna, who sometimes goes by “Lil,” was nominated by art teacher Martha Hacklin.

“LiLianna is consistently offering her support and is willing to make adjustments to accommodate other students’ needs – specifically students with disabilities. She is attentive, caring, thoughtful, and aware of her surroundings. She is a strong and gentle leader,” said Ms. Hacklin.

Her mother, Angela, said she’s been taught to “accept everyone” and that she cares deeply about how other kids feel. “She is a kid who is way beyond her age.”

In school, she enjoys math and recess. In her free time, she likes bike riding, swimming, camping, arts and crafts, and talking to her friends. She also participates in Junior Bisons cheerleading.

Congratulations, LiLianna!
