The New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) recognized Southgate Elementary and Albany Medical College as part of their “Champions of Change” recognition program for implementing the Teddy Bear Clinic. This incredible program aims to teach children about healthy habits and basic medical procedures. During the July 10th Board of Education meeting NYSSBA Member Relations Manager Patrick Longo presented a banner to Alyssa Stagliano and Jennifer Newman, Southgate’s PTA representatives and Principal Jerri Lynne Dedrick. Additionally, a banner was presented to Dr. Katherine Wagner and Theresa Weinman from Albany Medical College. We are very proud of this outstanding program!
