Meet Our New Principals and The Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics

On July 10, 2023, the North Colonie Board of Education appointed three new administrators. Please join us in welcoming our new principals and the director of physical education, health, and athletics.

Meet Ms. Hilary King

I am pleased to announce that the next principal of Boght Hills will be Ms. Hilary King. Ms. King is a proud North Colonie graduate. She completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University, her Master of Arts in Teaching at Seattle University, College of Arts and Sciences, and her advanced certificate in educational leadership from SUNY Plattsburgh. She has been employed by the Albany Academy since 2013, as a teacher, the Lower School Director, the Middle School Director, and the Upper School Director. She currently serves as the Dean of Faculty at Albany Academy.  We are eager to welcome her to the Boght Hills Community.

Meet Mr. Christopher Turcio

I am pleased to announce that the next Blue Creek principal will be  Mr. Christopher Turcio.  Mr. Turcio completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at Siena College, his Master of Science in Childhood and Special Education at the College of Saint Rose, and his advanced certificate in educational leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He began his career as a special education teacher and after five years in that role he was appointed to a teacher leadership position as a special education support dean.  Most recently, he has served as an elementary principal in the Mechanicville School District for 2.5 years before being appointed as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, K-12.  Mr. Turcio is eager to return to a building level position, and we are excited to welcome him to the Blue Creek community.  

Meet Mr. Sean Colfer

I am also pleased to report that the next Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics will be Mr. Sean Colfer.  Mr. Colfer completed his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education at SUNY Cortland, his Master of Science in Educational Administration and Policy Studies at SUNY Albany, and his advanced certificate in educational leadership at the College of Saint Rose.  Prior to becoming an administrator, Mr. Colfer served as a physical education teacher for ten years, teaching students  at all levels: elementary, middle school, and high school.  Since 2014, Mr. Colfer has been the Athletic Director in the Lansingburgh School District, a position in which he supervises the physical education program, the Health education program, all athletic programs, all school district nurses, and serves as the District’s Covid-19 Director.  We are excited to welcome Mr. Colfer to the Blue Bison team.
