Congratulations to Tracy Sangare on recently earning her National Board Certification. Sangare teaches English as a New Language (ENL) at Latham Ridge.

National Board Certification was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. It is known as the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education.

After teaching for 23 years, with 16 of those years in the North Colonie Central School District, Sangare earned the profession’s highest mark of achievement through a rigorous, performance-based, peer-review process, demonstrating their proven impact on student learning and achievement.

“I am so happy I went through this process. It has emphasized, for me, how important intentional action is in the classroom and the necessity of liberation education,” Sangare said.

There are currently 2,118 NBCTs in New York state, including 15 in the North Colonie Central School District.
