North Colonie is proud to share that Regan Doherty, a junior at Shaker High School, was selected as a designated recipient of the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) Study Trip German Award.
Doherty is presently enrolled in German 4 with Mrs. Christine Connor. She demonstrated high achievement in the study of German on the AATG national test and was nominated for this prestigious prize by the National Committee of the AATG. Only 40 students were selected from the United States to participate in this all-expense-paid summer trip, which includes round‐trip air transportation to Germany from New York, a homestay with a host family, and excursions to places of cultural and historical significance.
“This program gives students the chance to experience Germany firsthand by living with a German family and attending school,” said Keith Cothrun, Executive Director of the AATG. “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
