COVID-19 Notice from Albany County Department of Health

The following is a message from the Albany County Dept. of Health:

As a precautionary measure, the Albany County Department of Health is looking to contact anyone who attended the events of two local congregations and may have come into contact with individuals who have tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). If you were present at the Welcome Chapel mass on Sunday, March 8 at 11 a.m. or the Our Lady of Assumption Confirmation Mass on Sunday, March 8 at 10:30 a.m., you are being asked to remain in your home under precautionary quarantine until Sunday, March 22 and to contact your local health department immediately.

This is a preventative tool to uphold the health and safety of residents. Testing for individuals without symptoms is not recommended. If you do show any of the signs or symptoms of COVID-19, including a fever, cough, and shortness of breath, please contact your primary care provider and notify the Albany County Department of Health at (518) 447-4580.

While under precautionary quarantine, please follow the below guidelines:

  • Individuals should remain separate from the family in their own bedroom with a bathroom to themselves. If sharing a bathroom, it must be cleaned after every use.
  • Individuals should not have face-to-face contact with family members close than six feet for fourteen days.
  • Staff from the County Department of Health will be reaching out daily to check on the progress of individuals and to ensure they are abiding by the quarantine measures and have all necessary food and supplies.

We have said as more people are tested that we expect we are going to get more positive cases.
