Shaker High School PE Teacher ZaQuan Irby will be honored at a national conference as New York State’s high school strength coach of the year.
Coach Irby developed SHS’s Performance Fitness program, Currently over 700 students are enrolled. The National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA) will recognize Coach Irby at its June conference in Chicago.
The NHSSCA exists to educate, equip, and empower coaches to make a lasting impact on the lives of student-athletes. It is committed to developing coaches that are trustworthy, knowledgeable, effective, passionate, and transformational. The award is given annually to a High School Strength and Conditioning Coach to recognize their coaching achievements and passion for the profession.
