North Colonie Celebrates Tenure and Milestone Recognitions

On Monday, May 12, almost three dozen employees were recognize for tenure. In addition to this, the district recognized over 50 employees who reached milestones of 20, 25, 30, 35 years - and even 58 years. The ceremony, which hosted friends, family, and colleagues, featured remarks from Board of Education President Linda Harrison and Superintendent of Schools Kathleen Skeals.

Harrison started the presentation by offering words of encouragement for teachers and staff, while reflecting upon the impact they make in the lives of their students and peers.

"Do better today than tomorrow," said Harrison at the conclusion of her remarks.

"It's particularly rewarding to me tonight as I see people getting tenure that I hired, and people getting milestones that I taught," said Superintendent Skeals. "I don't know of many other professions that get something as special as this moment."
