Three of the Shaker High School football program’s most decorated athletes from its 2015 season signed national letters of intent to play football at the collegiate level. Brandon Barlow signed to Boston College, Andrew Bolton signed to Brown University, and Brendan MacPhee signed to Yale University.
“One thing that has never changed with these three young men is their enthusiasm for the game, their enthusiasm for leadership, and their efforts on and off the field,” said Shaker Football Head Coach, Greg Sheeler. “The caliber of the academic schools they’re going to is indicative of their performances. I’m really proud of the way they have conducted themselves in this building and in the community.”
All three athletes thanked their families, coaching staff, teammates and school administrators for their support through the years.
“Without my mom’s guidance and my dad pushing me to be the best I can, I wouldn’t be able to be sitting in this position today,” said Barlow.
“Every single one of my teammates has shaped me into who I am today, and I am so thankful,” added Bolton.
“I can’t thank my parents and sister enough. Whenever I needed to talk to someone, they were there,” said MacPhee. He also went on to thank his teammates, saying, “We became our best in practice, because we knew we faced the best competition from our own guys.”
