Three individuals test positive for COVID-19

| December 3, 2020

Dear North Colonie Community,

The North Colonie Central School District has confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 in our school community. The cases include the following:

  • An individual associated with the Blue Creek K-3 school community who was last in the building on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
  • An individual associated with the Blue Creek 4-6 intermediate school program in the junior high school building who was last in the building on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
  • An individual associated with the high school program who was last in the building on Nov. 20. The 14-day quarantine period for this case has expired. As a result, there are no school contacts related to this case.

We have been in contact with the Albany County Department of Health and identified each individual’s close contacts in the school community. Anyone who has been in close contact with any of these individuals has been directly contacted by a school administrator to discuss quarantine procedures and other health-related instructions. A call from the New York State Department of Health contact tracers will follow.

At this time, all of our elementary school buildings remain open for in-person learning while our 7-12 students continue with remote instruction through Dec. 8. As a reminder, each of our school buildings are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected each evening in accordance with guidance from the CDC and the New York State Department of Health.

We continue to work closely with the Albany County Health Department and follow their guidance each time our district has a positive case.

Please reach out to your child’s principal if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

D. Joseph Corr
Superintendent of Schools
