Thank you to the community from Supt. Corr

| September 18, 2020

Dear North Colonie Families,

We made it to Friday! I wanted to close out the week by saying thank you to our community for all you have done to help get us to this point. It was truly incredible to see our students back in the schools this week, and we are so pleased to finally have our school community together again.

As the year continues, I want to remind you that if your student has come down with any COVID-19 symptoms, or if they test positive for COVID-19, it is extremely important that you notify their school nurse or the school’s main office as soon as possible. If your student has any symptoms or has a fever greater than 100 degrees, we ask that you keep them home from school. With your help, we can continue to keep our schools safe.

Next, I want to let you know that our next Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meeting will be held virtually next Thursday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. As always, we will send out the meeting link to our families on the morning of the meeting. It is also always posted on our district homepage under “District News.”

We also have some great news to share with the community! We learned yesterday that our district was named “Best School District” in the Times Union’s Best of the Capital Region opinion poll for 2020. We were thrilled when we heard the news and it’s because of our families, students and staff members that we have earned this honor. Thank you!

Lastly, I want to sincerely thank you again for your cooperation and support throughout our first week. Whether your student is learning in person or from home, we know that the start of the year was different than years past. With your help, we were able to have a very successful first week. I understand it wasn’t a smooth ride for some, but we will continue to work through issues as they arise so that we can make sure our students have the best educational experience possible.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out or contact your child’s principal. If you are unsure of who to contact, all contacts by school/level can be found on our website.

Thank you again and we look forward to week two!

Sincerely,

D. Joseph Corr
Superintendent of Schools
