Southgate students participate in April Buddy Activity about perseverance

This month’s buddy activity started with a read-aloud of “My Brother Charlie”, a story about Callie and Charlie, twins who are alike and different. Charlie has autism, and Callie shares what is like to be his sister. She discusses some special lessons she has learned from her brother who perseveres in many ways.

After a discussion about the story and perseverance, buddies worked together to create puzzle pieces that reflected their similarities and unique gifts. Then the classes assembled the puzzle pieces together reflecting the value and contributions of all.
