The Albany County District Attorney’s “WORDS” campaign recently visited Shaker Junior High School, an outreach program that travels to schools and presents about how words can either hurt or heal. As a follow-up, the DA’s office encouraged students to participate in random acts of kindness with an emphasis on the WORDS theme.
Shaker Junior High School student, James Schadt was recognized by Terence Parker, Cassidy Dwyer, and Molly O’Brien from the DA’s office, for helping a man in a local Lowe’s Home Improvement store. The man had knocked over a display and was having difficulty picking the items up while at the same time caring for his young children. James voluntarily helped the man pick up the items and also gathered up a slew of shopping carts that were scattered around the parking area to ward off damage to surrounding vehicles. James was selected as Albany County’s weekly winner and is now in the running to be the monthly award winner. Congratulations to him!
