Tiramisu from Italy, Dhokla from India, Lumpia from the Phillipines, Chirashizushi from Japan, and Mousse au chocolat from France; these are just a sampling of the variety of foods enjoyed at Shaker Junior High School’s 5th annual International Potluck Dinner.
250 students and their families attended the evening event held on April 20. Everyone in attendance had the opportunity to sample an assortment of sweet and savory appetizers, main meals, and desserts representing 27 different countries from around the globe.
The Shaker Junior High School Chamber Strings Orchestra, conducted by Ms. Desiree Burke, provided musical entertainment throughout the evening, adding a special ambiance to the dinner.
The Junior High’s Foreign Language department would like to thank all of the families who prepared and shared delicious cultural foods, and above all, for their constant support of the Foreign Language program at Shaker. Gracias! Merci! Danke! Спасибо!
