SHS new student orientation set for Aug. 31

Welcome to Shaker High School! To make your adjustment to the high school more comfortable, the counseling department has planned an orientation program. The program will be held on Thursday, August 31 from 9:30–11:30 a.m.  Students and their parents and/or guardians are encouraged to attend. For parents/guardians, the orientation program will begin with a welcome in the auditorium by Shaker High School Principal Richard Murphy, Brian Spofford, Taft Hall Principal, Crystal Fox, LaFollette Hall Principal, Garrett Couture, LaFollette Dean and Lauren Sheeler, Taft Dean.  The formal introduction will then be followed by a question and answer period.

Students will report directly to the room assigned to them based on the spelling of their last name.  Please see the chart below for your student’s assigned room:

The counselors will welcome students to the high school and distribute class schedules (students who are unable to attend the orientation program will receive their schedule in homeroom on the first day of school).

During orientation, students will have the opportunity to locate their classrooms and lockers, as well as purchase a student planner in the School Bookstore.

The program will conclude with the students rejoining their parents and/or guardians in the LaFollette Dining Room.
