Shaker High School Counseling Department

The Shaker High School counselors are committed to delivering comprehensive, developmental counseling services. High school years are full of growth, promise, and challenges. Our school counseling program is dedicated to helping all students realize their full personal potential, set appropriate academic and career goals, and ultimately graduate to become contributing members of the world community. In addition to meeting with students during the school day, the School Counseling Department offers several quality evening programs for parents and students. School Counseling Newsletter

Throughout the year, the Shaker High School Counseling Center produces a newsletter pertaining to students grades 9-12. Inside, you will find detailed information about guidance programs and services, as well as important deadlines related to the college planning process. 

Military Opt Out

Public Law 107-544 requires high schools to provide the United States Armed Forces access to student names, addresses, and telephone listings.  This list of grade 11 and 12 students will be used specifically for armed services recruiting processes and college scholarships.

If you are not willing to approve of our releasing your child’s name, address, and telephone number, please complete the attached form and bring it to the Shaker High School Counseling Center by October 13, 2017.  If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Mr. Murphy at 785-5511.

If we do not receive the signed form from you by October 13, 2017 we must assume you have no objection to the release of such information.
