Earlier this month, nine awards were presented to the Shaker High School art students at the annual Capital Region Media Arts Festival, celebrating film, animation, photography and graphic design.

One of the films, “Reverse the Curse,” was honored for best directing and honorable mention in the public service category. It was a collaborative project, created by the students in Mr. Doolittle’s Studio in Media Art classes. Additionally, two PSAs that won awards focus on the topic of bullying.

Student award recipients include: Tara Bryan, Kevin Kim, Alex Feurer, Claire Wu, Chase Washington, Ciarra Bullington, and 42 students in the Media Arts sections.

Due to the pandemic, Niskayuna High School Media Arts teachers created a website to showcase all of the work submitted by the teachers in the region. The virtual Media Arts Festival can be viewed here.
