As we look ahead to September and the start of the 2015-16 school year, parents should be aware that there have been changes to the 2015-16 immunization requirements for New York state public schools.
The changes primarily relate to the DTaP, MMR, and polio immunizations, and the new requirement that students have their full series of those immunizations prior to entering school. Previously, the final doses of each vaccine could be administered up until age 6.

We ask that parents review the changes and contact their child’s doctor to make sure they have met the requirements for the start of the year, as they will be effective on September 1. Parents are also reminded to forward a copy of their child’s immunization record to the school nurse.
