In July 2018, Colonie Police Officer Anthony Sidoti was selected as North Colonie’s School Resource Officer, a position that was created in the 2018-19 school budget. Officer Sidoti is a lifelong resident of the town of Colonie and has worked in law enforcement for seven years.

Officer Sidoti is assigned to Shaker High School but travels to other school buildings as needed. He has a number of roles in his position, including being the first line of defense in the event of an emergency, serving as a valuable resource for students, providing opportunities for instruction on law-related education and being a valuable asset on the district safety committee.

“SRO Sidoti has been an extremely valuable resource added to our North Colonie community,” said Superintendent Joseph Corr. “His ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students and families is an important asset in ensuring the safety and well-being of our school community. He is an integral part of our safe schools program on both the prevention and intervention sides. We are most grateful for his presence in our schools.”
