School design workshops

| June 30, 2016

The district has mapped out a plan for the summer months as it continues to move toward a December 2016 bond vote for addition and renovation work to all school buildings K-12.

More than 150 people participated in visioning workshops during the last week in June to help plan for a grades 6-8 junior high school, to be implemented in the next 3-4 years. The conversations were thoughtful and informative as people came together to envision the best schooling environment the district could possibly create. Click here for a link to videos that were filmed during the workshops to hear the discussions that were held.

During the month of July, four workshops will be held to discuss big picture concepts of school buildings that will allow the district to place a cost on the overall project for voters.

The workshops will include discussion on how the physical space will enhance the academic programs in the district, and how the new buildings will house the programs. In addition, participants will take a look at the positives and negatives of the current buildings, what needs to stay, and what needs to be re-designed. These workshops will have a large impact on how the schools will layout architecturally and the district would like you to be involved.

Please email the Communications Office at if you would like to sign up for one of these workshops.
