School budget vote absentee ballot mail-in deadline extended

| June 8, 2020

Dear North Colonie Community,

Over the weekend, Governor Cuomo announced that he has extended the deadline for mailing in absentee ballots for this year’s school budget vote and board election.

Per Governor Cuomo’s executive order, in order to have your vote counted, school budget ballots can be accepted by hand delivery through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 and received by mail through Tuesday, June 16 by the school district.

Remember, we have set up ballot drop-off boxes at all of our schools, as well as the district office at 91 Fiddlers Lane. After Tuesday, June 9 at 5 p.m., per the Governor’s executive order, these ballot boxes must be removed and you will have to mail in your ballot.

If you are a qualified voter of the district and did not receive a ballot by June 6, we have arranged for in-person ballot pick-up. If you did not receive your ballot by the end of the day on June 6, individuals can come to Goodrich (District Office) at 91 Fiddlers Lane today, Monday, June 8 or Tuesday, June 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to pick up a ballot and vote. Individuals will be required to show proof of residency in the district (i.e. driver’s license, lease, utility bill with current address, etc.).

For information about the proposed 2020-21 school budget, please visit the budget page. Additional information about the budget can be found in this year’s budget newsletter which you should have already received.

Thank you for taking the time to read this important information. If you have any questions, please reach out to the district clerk at districtclerk@ncolonie.org or by calling (518) 785-8591, ext. 3126.

Sincerely,

D. Joseph Corr
Superintendent of Schools
