PSAT Changes

| July 30, 2015

The College Board, the organization that designs and administers the Pre Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSATs), has informed our district that for the 2015-2016 school year the PSAT’s will not be administered on a Saturday.

Instead, students will have the option to take the PSATs on two Wednesdays in October. Shaker High School will be offering the PSAT exam on Wednesday, October 28th. Juniors are recommended to take the exam. Sophomores can also take the exam. For all other students not taking the exam, school will not be in session. There will be regular morning transportation with a mid-day run added for students when they have completed the exam. Students should report to Shaker High School by 7:30 a.m. The exam will begin at 8:00 a.m. and be completed by 11:30 a.m.

The College Board anticipates offering the PSAT exam again on Saturday for the 2016-2017 school year. The SAT will continue to be offered on Saturdays.

There will be more information from the Guidance Office with details about the exam in September. In the meantime, please feel free to contact your child’s guidance counselor or me with any questions.

Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Sincerely,

Richard W. Murphy
Principal
