PAC meeting this Thursday, July 30 – Answering Frequently Asked Questions

| July 27, 2020

Dear North Colonie Community,

I hope you are all doing well, staying healthy and enjoying your summer. I wanted to remind you that this Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m., our district’s Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meeting will take place virtually. Our school community is invited to watch and learn more about our reopening plan. A link to the meeting will be sent out on Thursday morning and it will also be posted on the district website homepage. The PAC will continue to meet throughout August and the public is welcome to virtually attend each week.

During this Thursday night’s meeting we will provide another overview and update on where we stand with the reopening plan. We will also spend some time answering questions that have already been submitted by our school community. For planning purposes, we will not be taking new questions from the community during this meeting, but if you would like to submit a question in advance you can email

As you can imagine, we have received hundreds of questions from concerned families who want answers. We completely understand your concern and we want to provide you with as many answers as we can. We know the unknowns can be scary and this is a tough time for many in our community. Right now, there are still many questions we simply do not have answers for and may not for a while. As our team continues to meet and work on the plan, it is our intention to provide families with as much detail and information as possible. The plan will continue to evolve over time and hopefully we will be able to answer the many questions we have received. We appreciate your patience as we continue to work through the reopening planning process.

On Friday, July 31, a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page will be posted on our district website (under the Reopening Our Schools page) that will cover more questions and answers that we will not be able to get during the meeting. On the FAQ page, we will share more information on who you can contact if your specific question is not answered either during the PAC meeting or on the FAQ page.

Again, thank you for your patience and understanding. We want nothing more than to provide a safe return for all and we are working hard to make sure that is what happens.
