North Colonie’s Director of Facilities passes after battle with cancer
A message from Superintendent Joseph Corr:
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to let the members of our North Colonie community know that after a courageous battle with cancer, Tim Bonk has passed away. Tim served as the district’s Director of Facilities since 2004, and also as the Director of Transportation for three years prior. Tim was a member of the Air National Guard from 1989 to 2013, serving many years at Stratton 109th Air National Guard Wing as commander of the services unit. He retired from the Air National Guard with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Tim’s role in North Colonie was far-reaching, and he interacted with many on a daily basis. His strong leadership skills and extensive knowledge of maintenance operations have been extremely valuable to the district. Most importantly, Tim was a leader who had a big heart and a tremendous capacity to serve others. His loyalty to his country, the school district, and his family, friends and loved ones was strong and unwavering, and we will miss him dearly.
