Scott Hoot, North Colonie Assistant Superintendent for Business
There’s a new face in the North Colonie Business Office this school year, Mr. Scott Hoot, who brings more than 25 years of experience to the district. Hoot, who officially started on Sept. 1, is the new Assistant Superintendent for Business, joining North Colonie’s central office leadership team. Hoot describes his position as an integral part of providing leadership in the management of resources, to ensure quality education for all students.
“My style is straightforward, professional, fair and consistent, while always keeping the best interest of the students in mind,” said Hoot.
Hoot’s career began with four years of work in public accounting, and another five in the private sector. From there, he said a superintendent acquaintance of his introduced him to the school business administration program. That program led him to the Byron-Bergen Central School District, where he served as the School Business Administrator and Treasurer. Hoot also held that position in five other school districts in central and western New York throughout his career. Prior to North Colonie, Hoot’s last position was as the Assistant Superintendent of Management Services for the Champlain Valley BOCES in Plattsburgh.
“I cannot adequately express how thrilled I am to be joining the North Colonie Central School District community,” said Hoot. “I have been very impressed with everyone that I have had the opportunity to meet throughout the interview process. Together with the dedicated staff, I will have an unwavering focus on the mission and achieving the district goals. I am truly honored with being named as the Assistant Superintendent for Business of this exceptional school district.”
