Latham Ridge Elementary this week held a Family Innovation Night. Families worked together on projects – just like our students do in class. The district hopes to hold more of these events in the future. #NCInnovates

WE’RE HIRING!

The Transportation Department will hold a “Drive-a-Bus Event” on Wednesday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to noon. This is a great opportunity to test drive a bus and apply in person. We have immediate openings and paid training at $20 per hour. 

EVENTS, UPDATES, & REMINDERS

TONIGHT! April 8: All North Colonie families are invited to a ‘Paint and Snack’ from 6-8 p.m. in Shaker High School’s Lafollette Cafe to benefit Shaker High School’s Student Government Gold Card Committee. Learn more about the event here.

A Parents’ Advisory Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at 7 p.m. Topic: Transportation schedules. A livestream link will be shared early next week.

Shaker Middle School is seeking members for the Middle School Building Council. The group consists of students, staff, and parents and provides meaningful guidance and feedback to administrative decisions regarding our school community. Monthly meetings will be held from 4:15-5:15 p.m. This opportunity will continue into next school year. Those interested should contact Principal Davis Chamberlain at davischamberlain@ncolonie.org. 

Report Your Child’s Absence – We’ve created a simple Google form to streamline attendance. This form must be used to report all student absences (even if it’s not COVID-19 related). Please do not use this form for early/late dismissals. Click here for the Student Absence Form.

A Board of Education Budget Meeting will be held Monday, April 11 at 7 p.m. A livestream link will be shared soon.

Spring Recess is Friday, April 15 to Friday, April 22. Classes resume Monday, April 25. The district will send home COVID-19 test kits with students prior to the break.

 

The Shaker Boys basketball program is running a three day clinic over spring break, from April 18-20 at Shaker High School. The clinic will run from from 9 a.m. to noon 12 for boys in grades three to six. The cost is $40. Click here to learn more.

New York State Grades 3-8 Mathematics Tests will be held April 26-27.  Learn more about the testing.
