For the fifth consecutive year, North Colonie has been designated a Best Community for Music Education, one of 388 school districts across the country to be recognized. Winning districts set the bar in offering students access to comprehensive music education.
“It is a privilege and an honor to work with the outstanding music teachers in North Colonie,” said Deb Keough, North Colonie’s Music Department Supervisor. “I am, as always, confident that their daily efforts with children across this district have a profound, positive, and lasting effect on our students.”
“Ensuring that every child has access to music in schools requires commitment by students, teachers, and those who determine school budgets,” said Mary Luehrsen, executive director of the NAMM Foundation. “We commend the districts and schools that have earned the Best Community designation this year. They join with so many that believe as we do that there is a vital link between do-rei-me and the ABCs.”
The NAMM Foundation is a non-profit supported in part by the National Association of Music Merchants and its 9,000 members around the world.
Congratulations to the district’s music department!
