North Colonie cuts the ribbon on the new Arthur Walker Field

| October 2, 2018

On September 28th before the Homecoming Game, the North Colonie Central School District officially cut the ribbon on the new turf at Arthur E. Walker Field. The ceremony followed the Homecoming Parade around the track.

The district was honored to have many distinguished guests at the ceremony, including the Board of Education, past North Colonie administrators, Colonie Town Supervisor Paula Mahan, along with Arthur and Agnes Walker themselves.

Superintendent Joe Corr, Athur Walker, and Supervisor Mahan all spoke before the ribbon cutting, with Mr. Walker saying how thrilled he was to return to North Colonie and see the field that was named after him be revitalized for future North Colonie students and athletes.

The turf field is part of an ongoing $106.3 million dollar capital improvement project that was approved by North Colonie voters in May 2017. The district thanks the community for their continued support as we strive to ensure our students have best education and opportunities we can provide.
