New K-12 Bilingual Education and World Languages District Supervisor

During the July 9 Board of Education meeting, Ms. Brenna Muldoon was appointed as the new K-12 Bilingual Education and World Languages District Supervisor. Ms. Muldoon will replace Mrs. Galina Kats, who retired at the end of June after 27 years of dedicated service.

Ms. Muldoon has been a German teacher at Shaker High School since 2003 and was recently appointed as the grades 9-12 summer school principal. She has been instrumental in the German foreign exchange program, an advisor for the German Club, and a member of the district’s Instructional Innovation Team.

“We are confident that Ms. Muldoon will be an excellent replacement for Mrs. Kats,” said Superintendent Joseph Corr. “She will be instrumental in merging the English as a New Language (ENL) and foreign language departments together, and will provide great opportunities for our students to further their cultural understanding. We are all deeply appreciative of Mrs. Kats’ service and wish her well in her retirement, just as we look forward to Ms. Muldoon embarking on this new opportunity.”
