LR promotes health and wellness with students
On Friday, June 8, Latham Ridge Elementary and the North Colonie Food Service Department hosted a Health and Wellness Fair for students in kindergarten through sixth grade as a part of the school’s field day extravaganza.
Students were able to walk around to ten different booths (including one from North Colonie) and learned different health and wellness tips like how to adopt healthy eating habits, the benefits of drinking milk, how to grow fresh produce, and the fun ways to stay active during the summer. They even got some treats to take home!
Students met with the following organizations during the fair:
- American Dairy Northeast
- Capital Roots
- Infusion Sales Group
- Ciccotti Center
- Hannaford Dietitian
- NY SED Child Nutrition
- NY Farm Bureau
- St. Peters Center for Children
- Capital District Pediatric Dentistry
