Latham Ridge Elementary PTA/Special Education PTA
PTA Meetings
All meetings begin at 6:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
Join the PTA
Studies show that children perform better in school if their parents are involved in some capacity. We have the perfect way for you to become involved. Join the Latham Ridge PTA and take part in the many functions available to your students and family. We are always looking for new ideas and new people to enhance our PTA. If you are interested in joining, please review the Latham Ridge PTA membership form. Our PTA officers are more than happy to answer any questions that you may have so please do not hesitate to contact any one of us for information.
Box Tops Collection
Don’t forget to save your Box Tops! The PTA collects and redeems them for many valuable supplies used at Latham Ridge. We also hold contests throughout the year to see which class can collect the most Box Tops. Attach your collected Box Tops to the Collection Sheet and return to school with your student. Be sure to indicate his/her class so it can apply to the class totals!
School Tool Box Order
What better way to get school supplies for September? It’s easy and shipped directly to your home. Please allow 21 calendar days prior to when you would like your supplies. Hurry now and place your order at www.schooltoolbox.com.
Funding Request Procedures
There is one form to be completed regardless of the type of PTA funding that is being requested. This is the Latham Ridge PTA Funding Request and Event Reconciliation form. This form facilitates funding for:
- Budget Line Item Requests
- Cash Box Requests
- Loans
- Request for funds (non-budgeted items)
- Request for reimbursement (non-budgeted and budgeted items)
- Scholarships
- Teacher Stipends
- Website Subscriptions
Complete the form following the instructions. Attach copies of receipts/invoices supporting the request and submit the completed documents to the PTA Treasurer. Submissions can be accomplished by:
- Placing the request in the PTA Mailbox (in the office);
- E-mailing the request (including the completed form and supporting receipts/invoices) to lathamridgepta@gmail.com; or
- Hand delivering the request (including the completed form and supporting receipts/invoices) to Latham Ridge Elementary.
Requests for budgeted/non-voting items (including Cash Box Requests) must be submitted at least 5 days prior to the date the funds are needed. Requests for non-budgeted items must be voted on by the PTA Membership. Financial voting items are handled in a two month cycle. They are presented and discussed in month one and voted on the following month. These requests must be submitted at least 5 days prior to the PTA Membership meeting. An example is provided for illustrative purposes:
- PTA Membership meeting is being held on September 24
- Requests for non-budgeted items must be submitted not later than September 19 for inclusion as a voting item for discussion during the September 24 meeting
- Presentation and discussion of request will occur on September 24
- Voting will take place at the NEXT PTA Membership meeting on October 22
- Checks will be drafted within 5 days of approval by the Membership
Event/Activity Reconciliation Procedures
The event chairperson must complete Sections 1 and 5 of the Latham Ridge PTA Funding Request and Event Reconciliation form following the instruction contained on the form. Attach copies of receipts/invoices supporting the reconciliation (if applicable) and submit completed documents and all proceeds from the event or activity to the PTA Treasurer.
Event/Activity Proceeds and accompanying documentation must be delivered to the PTA Treasurer within 7 days of the event/activity. While not required, it is very helpful to have: the proceeds separated by denomination; the coins rolled when coinage is substantial; and a listing of checks including check number, payor name and dollar amount.
