Individual associated with SHS remote learning program tests positive for COVID-19

Dear North Colonie Community,

The North Colonie Central School District has confirmed today, Friday, Nov. 13, that an individual associated with the Shaker High School remote learning program has tested positive for COVID-19. 

The individual has not been on campus since the beginning of the school year and has not had any contact with students or staff from the high school.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Anyone who has been in close contact with this individual outside of school will be directly contacted by the local health department to discuss how long/if they should quarantine and other health-related instructions.

We continue to work closely with the local health departments and follow their guidance. If you have any questions, please reach out to your principal.
