District employee arrested after report of inappropriate contact with a student

During the afternoon on Tuesday, October 23, district officials were made aware of allegations of inappropriate physical contact between a district employee and a student. The district immediately notified Colonie Police about the allegations and reported the incident to the New York State Education Department. Police promptly began an investigation with full cooperation by administrators and staff. The employee resigned the morning of Wednesday, October 24 and has been prohibited from all school premises.

Earlier this morning, the district was informed by Colonie Police that the employee has been arrested.

Here in North Colonie, safety is paramount, and we will continue to take all appropriate actions to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all of our students.
