Calendar for the 2019-2020 school year approved
Dear Parents,
At the March 25 Board of Education meeting, the Board formally approved the calendar for the 2019-2020 school year. This calendar brings a change to the beginning of the school year, and we wanted to make you aware of it as soon as possible.
The 2019-2020 school year will begin for all K-12 students on Monday, September 9, 2019. Traditionally, the first day of school has been the Thursday following Labor Day. This year, however, the district has an extensive amount of construction going on during an unusually short summer. By pushing the first day of school back until September 9, the district and construction crews will have an extra week to make sure the construction is completed so we can fully occupy all of our buildings. The length of the school year for students will not change as we will not hold Superintendent’s Conference days in November and March.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter as we continue to work to modernize and expand our campuses to fit the needs of all our students.
