2016-17 interfund transfers

Part of the 2016-17 budget included $3,052,736 million in interfund transfers to the capital fund to enable the district to perform minor reconstruction of its existing facilities as described below. A positive budget vote constituted voter approval of these capital projects.

Blue Creek Elementary:

  • Mill and resurface main driveway, bus loop and all parking areas
  • Construct new student drop-off area & replace building sign
  • Create additional parking lot on west end of building with raised walkway along front of building from new area to main sidewalk
  • Install stand-by generator for building and central kitchen refrigeration

Boght Hills Elementary:

  • Replace the roof and all composite exterior panels on the 1991 addition
  • Replace the building sign at the end of the school driveway

Forts Ferry Elementary:

  • Replace original corridor convector heaters, kitchen ventilation and toilet/wing exhaust fans and tie them into the energy management system

Latham Ridge Elementary:

  • Replace original domestic water shut off valves building wide

Southgate Elementary:

  • Replace the roof on the 1991 addition

Shaker Junior High School:

  • Replace two sets of fire rated wood gym doors with fire rated Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester (FRP) metal framed doors
  • Improve the PA system for the gymnasium for emergency communications between the main office and gymnasiums

Shaker High School:

  • Remove wood bleachers on “home” side of field and relocate and increase “home” seating by approximately 400
  • Mill and pave student walk path from entry at Blue Creek to K-Wing entrance to Shaker High and tie paving into J Wing and K-Wing Exits
  • Grade and install necessary drainage from K-Wing to around H-Gym to mitigate flooding behind the building
  • Replace three Roof Top AC units for the hall offices and teacher prep area
  • Repoint E-boiler room chimney and make additional masonry repairs at H-gym walls and receiving area
  • Replace the univents, covers, radiation, and pumps in various wings; add air conditioning to uninvent in several areas
  • Pool renovation work
  • Repair courtyard deck roof area
  • Reconfigure Media Center to create Learning Commons Space and adjunct learning areas
  • Replace F Gym lighting with energy efficient light fixtures
  • Construct and install custom Art Room sink/storage units

Transportation Department:

  • Construct parapet at the front and rear of the heated portion of the building and additional roof work where required; replace bus exhaust for mechanic bays

Goodrich School:

  • Phase I: Abatement and reconstruction of previous daycare spaces into district office/storage space


  • Replacement of the district telephone system
